I'm back

We just got back from a week long trip that did not go as planned, but was still nice. We spent a couple days in San Angelo where we used to live. James' parents came down for a day and we got to visit with them. Then we went to South Llano State park and camped out for a night. It was beautiful and so quiet there. Mary and Marshmallow seemed to enjoy their first camping experience. The next day we went to Garner State Park. This is where things went downhill. Rude fee collectors working the front desks kind of set the tone for the day. Disappointing sites for camping were frustrating. Garner is the most visited state park and so they really pack the camp sites together. . .which is not the kind of camping James and I enjoy. They did have Wi-fi there so I finally checked my email only to find out my father-in-law had been in a very serious wreck the day before. Of course there was no cell service in the park. Since Mary was having a little trouble with the heat and some arthritis issues, and we needed to call James' family, we just packed up and left. We went back to my parents' house and just hung out for a couple of days before coming back. James' dad was okay, just some cuts and bruises.

I saw this rock formation while hiking at Enchanted Rock state park. It looked like a recliner to me.

Mary in the Frio river at Garner state park, she doesn't look happy with us.

Me eating a yummy smores made with a peanut butter cup instead of plain old chocolate. So good!

Our little set up at South Llano State Park. May is in the tent on the orange sleeping bag.
